Turbo C++ 3.0

Turbo C++ 3.0 was released in 1991 (shipping on November 20), and came in amidst expectations of the coming release of Turbo C++ for Microsoft Windows. Initially released as an MS-DOS compiler, 3.0 supported C++ templates, Borland's inline assembler, and generation of MS-DOS mode executables for both 8086 real-mode & 286-protected (as well as the Intel 80186) 3.0's implemented AT&T C++ 2.1, the most recent at the time. The separate Turbo Assembler product was no longer included, but the inline-assembler could stand in as a reduced functionality version.

Soon after the release of Windows 3.0, Borland updated Turbo C++ to support Windows application development. The Turbo C++ 3.0 for Windows product was quickly followed by Turbo C++ 3.1 (and then Turbo C++ 4.5). It's possible that the jump from version 1.x to version 3.x was in part an attempt to link Turbo C++ release numbers with Microsoft Windows versions; however, it seems more likely that this jump was simply to synchronize Turbo C and Turbo C++, since Turbo C 2.0 (1989) and Turbo C++ 1.0 (1990) had come out roughly at the same time, and the next generation 3.0 was a merger of both the C and C++ compiler.

Version 2.0, in 1989 - The American release was in late 1988, and featured the first "blue screen" version, which would be typical of all future Borland releases for MS-DOS. The American release did not have Turbo Assembler or a separate debugger. (These were being sold separately as the product Turbo Assembler.) Turbo C, Asm, and Debugger were sold together as a professional suite of tools. This seems to describe another release: Featured Turbo assembler, and an extensive graphics library.

GATE 2010 ONLINE APPLICATION FORM FAQ'S

The candidates are advised to have a digital photograph (scanned at minimum resolution of 200 DPI or 240x360 pixels with maximum size of 100 KB) and scanned signature (scanned at minimum resolution of 200 DPI or 440x100 pixels with maximum size of 40 KB) prior to starting the filing of applications. A candidate in the SC/ST category should also scan the category certificate issued by the competent authority as specified in section 4.3 of GATE 2010 brochure. A candidate in the PD category should also scan the copy of PD certificate issued by the competent authority prior to starting the online application filing.

1. Frequently asked questions

   • How do I load my signatures?
     Please follow these steps before loading the signatures.
     1. On a piece of paper make a rectangular box of size 5cm X 1.2cm.
     2. Put your signature within this box.
     3. Scan the image at 200dpi resolution.
     4. Crop the image to remove white space outside the box.
     5. Save the image in JPG format.
     6. Use this file to load the image.
   • I filled my form and completed the form. I have made some errors. What do I do?
     You may send your request for correction by email to gate@iitk.ac.in. Please quote your reference number and application number clearly in the mail. Please note that all such request must be made on or prior to October 28, 2009 for corrections. Any request made after this date will be rejected.
   • I filled my form and successfully paid the application fee through online payment gateway (once or several times). However this is not showing in the application status. What do I do?
     Sometimes in rare cases due to the failures at the payment gateway, we are unable to get the payment information in right time. If your payment is made successfully, we will be doing a manual reconciling of payments and shall credit to your application. You will be able to see this correctly on the application status within one week. You are still advised to contact us through email to gate@iitk.ac.in. If you have done multiple successful payments for a single reference number, all but one payment will be refunded to you through your card after the payments are reconciled manually. If you made multiple successful payments to different reference numbers, they will be treated as duplicate applications. All such duplicate applications shall be rejected and only one application shall be accepted but NO REFUND of the application fee will be made.
   • Where do I send the draft and cover note.
     The draft must be payable to "Chairman GATE, IIT Kanpur" and must be sent along with the cover note to Chairman GATE, Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur, Kanpur 208016 UP.
   • What is cover note and how do I get the cover note.
     The cover note is specific to applicant. Once the online form is submitted, the candidate will be able to see the summary page. If the application is complete, cover note is not needed and no documents are to be send. If the application is incomplete due to candidate's inability to upload photograph, signature, category certificates, PD certificate or if the payement is being made through a demand draft, cover note can be donwloaded by a link provided on the summary page. All documents which are needed are clearly marked with a (X) in the cover note. Those documents must be sent along with the good quality cover note printout.
   • My photograph and signature as I loaded on the site are not appearing right. What can I do?
     You may send your photograph and signature as attachments to the mail to gate@iitk.ac.in. Please quote your reference number and application number clearly in the mail. Also see the guidelines to prepare the photograph and signature image files on this page above.
   • SBI Payment Gateway is not working. How do I pay?

Some weeks later, the investigation resumes in Miami Beach. There, against the vibrant backdrop of a tropical hurricane, Walker stumbles across several additional corpses and begins to discern the outline of a widespread, highly organized criminal conspiracy. As the narrative progresses, moving from Miami to Chicago to a sinister littletown in rural New Hampshire -- a town in which everyone seems to be related to everyone else -- the action intensifies, culminating in an extended climax in which Walker and Spillman -- accompanied by a beautiful outlaw hacker named Mary Catherine Casey -- fight for survival against a vicious, ubiquitous enemy.
